"Do what you love and you'll always be successful."
Someone once said this to me and it really stuck. I'm a 4th generation music professional and proud to say that I love what I do. I look forward to getting up each day and going to work. Not many people can make that claim.
I am Director of Licensing for the World's largest Classical Record Label and Distributor, Naxos. In this capacity I oversee a vast catalog of recordings and intellectual property and manage the outside usage of those assets. I place music in Film, TV, Videogames, Custom Cds and Downloads, Advertisements, Web videos, Educational texts and web resources and everywhere in between. I love what I do and I'm damn good at it.
Additionally, I am a frequent speaker and lecturer at various universities covering topics ranging from general music business overview, music copyright, music technology, and licensing. Being the son and grandson of great educators, I find myself drawn back towards education at every turn.
When not waxing poetic on the business of music, my time is spent chasing twin 2.5 year old girls around the hills of Tennessee. So far I've managed a great run working in and with music, but these girls are by far my greatest masterpiece.
