"Do what you love and you'll always be successful."
Someone once said this to me and it really stuck. I'm a 4th generation music professional and proud to say that I love what I do. I look forward to getting up each day and going to work. Not many people can make that claim.
I am Vice President of Business Development and GM of the Nashville office of a digital distribution company called Symphonic Distribution. A true 21st century music company. In this role, I am looking for fantastic independent artists and labels that need a team in their corner. We can be that team- soup to nuts.
Prior to my current role it was my pleasure to head up Creative Sync & Licensing for ole music publishing. In that capacity I oversaw a vast catalog of music copyrights and intellectual property and managed the outside usage and licensing of those assets.
In addition to my work-life, I am a frequent speaker and lecturer at various universities covering topics ranging from general music business overview, music copyright, music technology, and licensing. Being the son and grandson of great educators, I find myself drawn back towards education at every turn.
When not waxing poetic on the business of music, my time is spent chasing twin 8 year old girls around the hills of Tennessee. So far I've managed a great run working in and with music, but these girls are by far my greatest masterpiece.
