"Do what you love and you'll always be successful."
Someone once said this to me and it really stuck. I'm a 4th generation music professional and proud to say that I love what I do. I look forward to getting up each day and going to work. Not many people can make that claim.
I am the newly appointed Senior Director of Creative Licensing for the World's fastest growing rights management company, Ole' (starting May 6). In this capacity I will oversee a vast catalog of music copyrights and intellectual property and manage the outside usage of those assets. I place music in film, TV, videogames, advertisements, toys, games, consumer products and everywhere in between. I love what I do and I'm damn good at it.
Additionally, I am a frequent speaker and lecturer at various universities covering topics ranging from general music business overview, music copyright, music technology, and licensing. Being the son and grandson of great educators, I find myself drawn back towards education at every turn.
When not waxing poetic on the business of music, my time is spent chasing twin 2.5 year old girls around the hills of Tennessee. So far I've managed a great run working in and with music, but these girls are by far my greatest masterpiece.
